This is a page set up to help you guys with your roleplays. I have noticed, with the exception of a few, that not many of you have been writing solid roleplays. Well, that's what this page is for. I have written a roleplay, that will be with some helpful pointers. The pointers will be in parenthesis. I am not looking for quantity but quality.
(In this roleplay, my character is a man named The Chef. He is in a feud for the heavyweight title, with a man that goes by the name 'Pretty Boy' Lloyd. The first thing to start off a roleplay with, is to create a setting. Do not only tell where the roleplay is taking place, but also state what the character is wearing, what mood he's in, and so forth. This is very important, as it creates a visualization for us, the readers. Another thing is to make sure that the create a setting is separated from the dialog, wither by signs, or by different colors.)
The scene opens up inside the Louisiana Superdome, for PWA Friday Night Frenzy. The fans are on their feet, in anticipation for the next match when the lights go out, and the oh so familiar theme music of The Chef over the arena speakers. The curtains begin to shuffle, as The Chef makes his way out. The lights begin to flicker, along with some pry going around the arena. The fans are going nuts, as The Chefs? appearance was not anticipated. The Chef gets into the ring, and starts strutting around, acting very cocky. He finally goes and picks up the mic awaiting for him in the corner, and raises it to his mouth, as the fans begin to silent, his music gets cut off, and the lights return to normalness.
(In this case, I used the Superdome for the arena. However, please feel free to use any other background for your interview. As a matter of fact, I insist you use anything bu an arena, because it's been used so many times. Try a shopping mall, a beach, a TV show, anything but the arena scenario!)
(Now, after you have the scenario set, it's time for the dialog. Some big things about speaking, is to always stay in character. If you are a face (a good guy) then act like it. If you are a heel (a bad guy) then disrespect the crowd. If you have a death gimmick, then say big words, and talk about the darkside. This is very important, because we picture you saying what you are saying. In this case, my character is a heel. Also, it is nice if you be descriptive when you speak. Don't just say you are going to kick someone's ass because you say so, because that will get you nowhere, and you will become a jobber, it's as simple as that. And also use your own original catchlines. No If you smell what the..... or And that's the bottom line.... Think of your own, because it's more fun to read that way.]
The Chef: It is truly sick to be infront of such rednecks like yourself. I don't even know why I agreed to pull an interview in front of such slobs, but I did, so I have to pay the consequences.
(Notice the constant bashing of bashing of the fans, and how I said interview, and not roleplay. It is important to keep in realism to real wrestling, and not make this look to fake.)
The Chef:: The only thing that I have to say to you peices of excess skin is this. In no less than three days, I get the chance of a life time, against that other redneck, the 'Pretty Boy' Lloyd. This guy is such a load of bulls**t. He comes out here, and praises you guys for no reason except for the fact he wants to, and he says a whole load of crap about me. To add to that, he still has the PWA World Heavyweight title around his waist. But, soon I will change all of that. I will be the next PWA World Heavyweight champion, and there is nothing that you people can do about it!
The fans are booing at the top of their lungs.
(It's good to keep going back to what is happening in the setting, to keep the roleplay flowing.)
The Chef: You've been talking a whole load of s**t these past weeks, and some of it doesn't even make sense. You say how you are not taking me lightly, yet you continue to bash my skill, which overshadows yours. Well, ?Pretty Boy?, you better not be over looking me, because on Sunday night, you will be caught by surprise. I have been on a role as of late, and no one has cared, especially you pieces of trash. Well, it's my time to shine, and your time to step out of the lime light. I will kick you our of the lime light, and into the next week, simply because the way you act. I will be all over your a*s Sunday, and you will have no defense to stop me.
What's going to happen to ?Pretty Boy?, is going to be exactly the same as what I did to Nightmare last night. He thought that he could walk right over me like ?Pretty Boy? does, and he suffered the consequences. I am not one to f**k with and ?Pretty Boy?, you have pissed me off. I don't care about all your past, your awards, or anything about you. All that's going to happen, is I will go into our match, beat you from pillar to post, and your a*s, and that's that.
(As you saw, my character did use some profanity. I will usually let some words slide, as long as they don't get into sexuality, and race, because those things just piss me off. And if you do swear, use signs, or bleep out out like I did.)
(Now that you have finished saying what you have to say, it's time for a closing, which is also important. It doesn't have to be as long as the opening, but it can't be really short.)
The Chef throws down the microphone, and raises his arms in the air. The fans boo, and throw garbage at him. A drink even hits him in the head, but it doesn't faze him. He makes his way to the back, as his music hits, and the scene fades to black.
